Gettysburg, PA
Mike and Sherry spent two nights at the haunted Farnsworth House in Gettysburg, PA and visited the battlefield and Sachs Bridge.
The Farnsworth House Inn is a beautiful victorian bed and breakfast which dates from 1810. It was right in the thick of the battle during the Civil War, when its attic was occupied by sharpshooters. They offer several haunted room accomodations. We spent one night in the Catherine Sweney room and one night in the Sarah Black room. We took photos at all times of the day and night in the attic and we left the camcorder running for several hours in our rooms. Unfortunately, the ghosts didn't perform for us on these nights. Check out our Links Page to learn more about this bed & breakfast.

Sach's Bridge is a beautiful covered bridge in a picturesque setting. It is about 1 mile from Warfield's Ridge, where the main Confederate line of battle found itself on July 2, 1863. Thousands of men died in the fields around the bridge, 3 rebels were hung from its rafters and mass graves still occupy the fields nearby. We were excited about visiting the bridge and made it a priority on our trip to Gettysburg. However, we were disappointed to hear that the bridge and environs were only accessible to the public between dawn and dusk, due to prior problems with vandalism. We went anyway and enjoyed a couple of hours in the area. We took quite a few photos but only one yielded anything out of the ordinary. The first picture is of the bridge itself. The second picture is in a field next to the bridge, where ghostly apparitions have been reported to appear from time to time. We caught a bright orb on the side of the road. Even without witnessing an apparition, it was a pleasure to visit this beautiful site.

The battlefield area at Gettysburg was also closed to the public between dusk and dawn. We had to make due with visiting the battlefield during the day and visiting the cemeteries in Gettysburg at night. We found no anomalies on our daytime pictures of Devil's Den and other locations on the battlefield, but the evening pictures produced quite a few orbs. The first three pictures were taken at various locations on Cemetery Ridge. The final picture was taken in the Wal-Mart parking lot. It was once the location of the Union Field Army Hospital. The number of orbs produced here was phenomenal.
